Naked Eagle Travel Poems

In my everyday life as an administrator, counselor, planner, I rarely had the opportunity to indulge my creative side. It was stifling to suppress that character of mine in the pursuit of pragmatism. Occasionally I would be fortunate enough to have the opportunity to sing. Performing at Strasbourg Cathedral during Advent or taking over an Irish Set in Dublin are highlights of my self-proclaimed European concert tours! Still, sometimes I need to reach deeper into my sometimes dark soul and express myself in the written word. When I’m on holiday I am often inspired. Perhaps it’s the freedom from everyday cares, the change of scenery, the amazing food, maybe the drink, but I have been quite prolific when traveling. I guess I’m not just exploring a country, but also my inner voice. My poems actually inspired me to blog. It seemed a natural outgrowth of creativity meeting reality.

CLICK on the link below and you will find my library. I promise you I am not nearly as dark as I may seem. No need to call psychiatric authorities or send anti-depressants my way. In fact poetry is a therapeutic way to let the darkness out. Full disclosure- many of the poems were written abroad but not all. The astute traveler may sense where a piece was conceived, but often times I did not write about a specific locale. I was just somehow inspired by my surroundings. Still if it was not for my travels, very few of these would have been created and none of them would ever have seen the light of day. Enjoy.
